Looks like the doctor took care of the correct hernia this time, and his description of it matches what the ultra-sound showed. I am home with an ice pack and bottles of pain killers. All is well.
I'm hoping this is my last hernia surgery in...well, in forever.

Denial at its Finest
Tomorrow morning bright and early I hope to have my hernia taken care of once and for all.
The doctor better get it right this time.
I am not looking forward to surgery.
I am not looking forward to recovery.
I am in denial about 6 more weeks of no lifting.
If any of you want to come visit Eastern Idaho, Bentley and I would both love it.

Family Fame
My cute and talented sisters are famous! The cute one and the talented one are featured here. So maybe famous is a bit of an exaggeration, but still I think it is cool.
By the way they are both cute and talented.

The Good Stuff
The hunger strike is over. Bentley had his first root beer float last night. It was actually my float that he stole from me. He quickly learned that by biting on the straw I couldn't remove it from him, therefore he was able to continue drinking. He must have some of the Wilkins' blood cause he didn't seem to experience a brain freeze during his rapid swallowing of the float. He also experienced fresh cut fries, which were also a hit.I don't know if his lack of eating lately has really been a lack of appetite or if he has just been holding out for the "good stuff".

Little Boy, Big Attitude
Bentley loves my singing, well at least he used to. Yesterday I was singing as we were driving and apparently he had had enough of it.
So he brought both hands up to his ears and covered them. He kept his ears covered until I had finished singing.
What happened to my sweet little happy boy? He has turned into a teenager on me.

Homeless Quilt
While on my shopping excursion this afternoon I found this quilt for $15 at Target. I don't have a need for it, but figured someone might. Tameka let me know if you want it or if I should look for another owner. The back is the fun green floral with the red lace stuff around the edges. The flowers are corduroy and velvet-oh so nice. That's all.

The Look and a haircut
Over the past couple of days Bentley has started giving me this weird look/glare. He does it while I am talking to him, as to say "hey lady, what are you talking about?" He looks up and then purses his little lips together. I find it very rude and it needs to stop because he is giving me a complex. And the hair. Oh the little man's hair. Out of control. This is a before picture. Before I took the clippers to it and he ended up with a "summer" haircut. Its a good thing hair grows cause he is now bald.

The Plan
Last week as I lay coughing on the couch I came up with a plan. The plan was to get my spring cleaning done first thing this week.Washing windows was the main thing.
This morning it is cold and snowy
So much for a plan.
I don't want to clean in the snow. I want to clean with the windows open and fresh air drifting in.

Happy V-Day
We sure know how to celebrate Valentines.
With a box of Mucinex, some Sudafed, and a fever of 102.
Oh so romantic.
The next morning Chod made me go to the doctor. I have the crud. I am now on 2 prescriptions that I am not quite sure what they are, but they are making me feel much better.
Hope your Valentine's Day was better.

Figured it out
I think I have finally put my finger on the reason I am so often disappointed when planning an activity.
My imagination is so much larger than my budget.
Therefore I am always disappointed in the way things turn out, because in my head it is some grand extravagant thing when in reality it comes straight from the dollar store.

Singing the blues
We are singing the Runny Nose Blues at our house. Bentley has one, I have one. Life is miserable. As I was going through iTunes looking for some music for the little man to dance to I came across "I've Got the Runny Nose Blues." A song off of a children's CD. I have been looking for the lyrics to share, but believe me, they are very fitting.

Sundays Stink
I hate Sundays. They are so long. I don't know if it is because they start at 6 am (that's when Chod has to be at his first meeting of the day), or if trying to entertain a very sleepy baby for 3 hours is just too much. If only he would take a nap during church life would be so much easier, but the little guy is too afraid of missing something to close his eyes.
And then staying sane for the remaining 12 hours of the day after we are finished with church is just too much. Chod has choir practice at 4:30-which pretty much ruins a Sunday afternoon.
I remember when I was little and we would go visiting people after our Sunday naps. I somehow need to talk my husband into going along with that plan.

IKEA

As I was trying to figure out a way to get to the nearest IKEA, I looked at store locations, just so I knew what my options were. When what do I see
Draper, UT opening Spring of 2007
That is this spring!! I am so excited. Before we left Logan I had heard rumors of an IKEA, but thought it would be years.
As soon as I find out the opening date I will for sure be planning a trip to SLC.

Valentine's Party
Last night was our long awaited, much anticipated Valentine's Party. It turned out really well (if I do say so myself). We ate dinner and then made little Valentine goodies.
I forgot to take pictures of how stinkin cute the tables were before we ate, but they were cute. White table cloth, red chargers, white plates, white napkins tied with a red ribbon, candles and berries down the center with Shirley Temples adding some pink.
We had fondue for dessert and tried a few new dippers. Brownies and little balls of cream cheese rolled in cinnamon and sugar were hits along with the usual strawberries and bananas. Once again using the adorable picks I made as fondue sticks.
Then we cleared off the tables and started creating Valentine masterpieces.
*These photos didn't turn out so hot because I took them without flash--but you get the idea*

We probably made it be more work than was necessary, but it was a lot of fun and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

Bully
Today Bentley and I were at a friends house working on stuff for our Valentines party (I'm pretty excited about it). She has 3 kids (6, 4, and 2). The 4 year old was sitting on the floor watching TV when I see Bentley shoving him. As the boy was laying on the floor crying, Bentley sat on top of him and started wiggling his bum back and forth. Bentley thought it was funny (and so did the mom's) but the poor 4 year old had just been beat up by a scrawny 1 year old. I tried making Bentley apologize, but I highly doubt he understood he was in trouble, as I was scolding through my laughing.Last night as we were eating dinner, Bentley was driving me crazy wanting to sit on my lap. I gave him an ice cube out of my glass to play with. He thought it was the best thing ever and chased it around the floor for about 10 minutes. Just as his little hand would close on it, the ice cube would go shooting across the floor. He would track it down (ice cubes are pretty tricky to find) and then send it flying again.
