Want to know why this is on clearance?
Because it is the worst idea ever.
A catch a release mouse trap? Really people. Where are you releasing them?

Following Through
Bentley has a new favorite show on TV, Wild Kratts. There's a problem though, it comes on at 4 pm and our TV isn't usually on at that time. It has grown into such a problem because he has huge meltdowns on the days he misses his Wild Kratts. But really, as a mom should I interrupt him playing, coloring, and using his imagination to remind him Wild Kratts is on?
So I deemed this week a no TV week, as to prevent and cure all TV related meltdowns. I told him that we can't let TV control our lives. His reply, "The only thing that controls my life is exercise!" I don't really know what that means but I think it is hilarious he said it.
Too bad I picked this week though. On day #1 I woke up with an aching back and a yucky stomach and Lincoln has been running a fever and Joy School was canceled for today. It would be the perfect week to let the TV do a little entertaining for me. Instead, I am stubborn enough that it has stayed off. It's all about the follow through, right?

Don't Call Him Cute
Saturday, while we were at lunch, there was a table of older--great grandparents--next to ours. As they left they made comments of how cute our boys were and to cherish them because they grow up too fast, but that the fun only continues when you get grandkids and great grandkids...etc
As they exited Lincoln shaking his head repeated, "I not cute, I Linky Boodle." until he was almost in tears.
He's pretty serious about it.

Consolation prize for not building a house?
Valentine's present?
Replacement for my 5 year old pink flipper on its last leg?
I don't care what you call it.
I love it!

Jimmerfest '11
Chod's aunt invited the family to Provo last weekend to watch a BYU basketball game. More specifically, to see Jimmer Fredette do his thing. The invitation grew into a packaged deal, tickets to the game, 2 nights at Springhill Suites, dinner at Tucanos, and matching game day shirts. The party was 32 people in size. It became such a big deal I nicknamed it "Jimmerfest '11".
I'll be the first to admit that our Lincoln purely didn't get it, as he kept yelling "Go Aggies!" throughout the game. We even tried prepping him for days before with words like "cougars" and "BYU" and "Cosmo", but he's one stubborn 2 year old and we made no progress. He cheered for his Aggies in the Marriott center like a die hard.
Chod taught Bentley to yell things like "Jimmer, pass the ball!" but Bentley fell asleep shortly after the game started. Jimmer broke the Mountain West all time scoring record during this game.
building an in-room fort (okay, I really built it--and Chod added the pillows on top)
but they had fun playing in and destroying it!
Thanks Aunt Kay for bringing us all together for the weekend!

When 12 Became the Magic Number
During a conversation with Bentley about junk food this afternoon, I mentioned that we should eat less of it.
Without missing a beat Bentley asked, "Do you know what is less than 12?"
"What?"
"Five. Five is less than 12, so we should just eat 5 cookies."
