And so it begins....
He also went to the dentist today, and what you're looking at is the 'model of oral health'. Which isn't surprising, with his love of flossing and all. Joy School and the dentist. It was a big day at our house. (Bentley loves the dentist. Really. Loves. Not sure which he was more excited about Joy School or Dr. Doug.)
And his totally rad backpack.

Belly Button Expert
At Joy School today one of the boys lifted his shirt up.
Bentley started laughing, "That's funny!" And pointed at him.
I asked, "What's funny?"
"He has an innie!"
That prompted another boy to raise his shirt so Bentley could identify what sort of belly button he had.
In case you are wondering, Bentley is very proud of his outie.

Are you twins?
Bentley fits in Hudson's hand-me-downs and Lincoln fits in Bentley's--so all the shopping trips Karisa and I made together are working out quite nicely.

Our tiger
Some call him Linky-Boodle.
But we call him The Purple Tiger.
No matter what you call him, one things for sure--he is 100% edible. And it's a good thing he's so stinking cute because he is t-r-o-u-b-l-e!

Midnight Waffles
Lincoln is in the habit of not eating dinner, and then he wakes up crying sometime between 11:43 and 12:14. He starts out crying for his mom, but quickly moves onto dad.
His dad takes the poor bunny downstairs and fixes him waffles. Except for last week when Chod made him french toast.
I kid you not.
What we've got here is 100% a parent problem.

You can thank me later
For the last three years I check out the new houses on the market daily. That's right, every day I look to see what our options are. (Lucky for us it looks like housing prices here are finally starting to drop.) Over the many hours I've spent looking at square footage, lot sizes and weird paint jobs I've been making a mental list of photo taking tips to help the seller
As a buyer I'm not interested in seeing:
As a buyer I'm not interested in seeing:
- What you are watching on TV. Shut it off.
- Your toilet. Please put the lid down.
- Your garbage can. Please set it off to the side while the picture is being taken
- Your sink full of dishes. Either wash them, or like the garbage can--set them out of the sink and out of the camera's view.
- Your loofah hanging in the shower. Or your amazing collection of shower gels, shampoos, shaving gels, and razors filling the tub.
- Five dishtowels hanging on your stove. One would suffice.

Lincoln just bit me!
"Mom, Lincoln keeps bitting me."
"You mean biting. He bites you."
"No, he bitted me."
"No, he bites yous."
"But he just bits me, Mom."
"Okay."
"Biting is when you swallow. He doesn't swallow me, he bits me."
"That's the difference between bit and bite? Biting means you chew and swallow?"
"Yep!"

Our couch will never be the same
Over the last 2 years and 8 months Deidra would occasionally mention how pathetic we (her and I) were, that we spent so much time together, and that we should really work on making friends beside each other. Usually, it was in reference to how much time she had spent on my couch for that day or week.
I would always rebuttal her with, "But don't you really think we should take advantage of living this close to each other? One day we won't and it would be a complete waste if one of us moved and we missed out on the chance to spend so much time together."
The day has come.
And it stinks.

What a Week!

Tuesday: Chod's sister moved. While he helped load, I watched 3 extra kids. Then we drove down and he helped unload (while I went to Target).
Wednesday: Play group. Bentley got his haircut. Karisa + kids came to town. Went swimming.
Thursday: Watched Karisa's kids in the morning while she helped Deidra pack. Watched my Thursday baby in the afternoon.
Friday: My parents came to town. Started loading Deidra and Chris.
Saturday: Finished loading Deidra and Chris. Stephens Family Reunion.
Sunday: Day of rest!

Where's Mickey?
We've heard That Famous Preston Night Rodeo Parade is one of the best around, so we headed north. Chod had the boys wear their hats (only because he thought they would draw more attention and help with the candy getting). It took Bentley a little while to figure out what was going on and we had to convince him to pick up candy at the beginning. By the end he was a candy grabbing pro, running about and down the street picking up candy!
Lincoln loved everything about the parade. The horses, the bands, the candy. You can see him signing "more" here. He wanted more of everything.
And you can see him moving and a grooving in the movie.
For not knowing much about this parade we did pretty good. We had no idea where the parade route was, so we parked in one of the first spots we found. Followed the crowd and found an opening on the grass. Arrived just minutes before the parade reached us. The sun went behind the clouds and it wasn't too hot. We were camped out next to some very white trash people. But they were certainly the kindest WT I've ever seen. Their boys shared candy with mine, and they moved down wind to smoke their cigarettes. And we arrived back at the car just as it started to rain. Maybe That Famous Preston Night Rodeo Parade really is the best around.
