Karisa, Hudson, and Lil' Lanie spent the afternoon with Bentley and me. My voice is basically gone now and I think Hudson was mocking me.
I would say something to him, in barely a whisper, and he would answer in a whisper and a smile.
He is a fantastic listener though and caught everything I said, and even if he was making fun of me I still like him.

My Favorite
Jamie tagged me. Here are my favorites:
My favorite smell: I love the smell of citrus--orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit. And I may be a little strange but I really really like the smell of moist soil.
My favorite sound: Right now it is Bentley playing in the bathtub. He loves bath time and jabbers and sings and splashes and jabbers and sings some more. Baths can last an hour for him and sometimes he gets 2 a day, just because.
My favorite taste: Chocolate and peanut butter--the best combination ever.
My favorite touch: Bentley kisses.
My favorite sight: My counter! I finally put away my sewing machine and craft stuffs this morning--it has been buried for months. So nice to see it again.
Alisha, Karisa, Corrine, Nikki and Jolyn--YOU'RE IT!

This Is The Place
We are getting ready for a week in Salt Lake City. What are your favorite places along the Wasatch Front? I've started making my list, but I am sure there are places I have never been!
Its going to be me and Bentley, so I need some kid friendly suggestions as well as places I might enjoy.
Please share.

I sound pitiful
I have a cold.
I used to work in a call center (one that does surveys) my sophomore year of college. Not something I am proud of, but I had to buy books and pay rent somehow. I wasn't one of those annoying people who won't let you off the phone, I promise. I was desperate for a job and while I know call centers are only a step, maybe a half a step above selling plasma, I did it.
(I am going somewhere with these 2 random facts, stay with me).
Call centers base your pay upon how many surveys you can complete in an hour (that's why they won't ever let you off the phone). I was fairly good. It could have been because I am a fast talker, or maybe it was because my boss liked me and always put me on the easy surveys. But on thing is for sure; whenever I was sick my numbers went way up. Way up.
Apparently my voice is a lot more attractive when I am sick and hoarse. Or maybe it was because people felt sorry for me, but either way I made good money when I was sick.
If I was working at the call center tonight I would be making bank.

Who's the Boss?
The rule of no Bentley in our bed has long since gone out the window. Most nights he sleeps just fine in his own bed, but every once in a while there is a night where he wakes up crying and I can only take it for so long before we give in and he ends up in our bed. Don't judge.
Last night was one of those nights. At 2 am Bentley started crying. At 2:30 I went in to see what was the problem.
I found him sitting up holding his Froggie calling for "Da" between sobs. I took him into our room.
Within 15 minutes he had taken over my pillow and the majority of my side of the bed. I relocated to the twin bed in his room.
A little after 3 am Chod tells me to scoot over and climbs in the twin bed with me.
Apparently Bentley was not sleeping, but instead sticking his fingers in Chod's nose and eyes. He is wide awake and wants someone to play with, so Chod opted to leave him in our bed, where he fell asleep as soon as his play friend is gone.
By a little after 4 Chod had had enough of the double occupancy twin bed and decided to reclaim our bed. Bentley is moved back into his crib screaming.
Since the bed I am in is in his room, I hold as still as possible so he won't realize I am there. It worked and 20 minutes later he was sound asleep and I moved back to our room.

Identity Crisis
You may have noticed I have had header ADD lately. This one may stay up for a while, or it may not....who knows.
Yesterday we made a little jaunt to Burley and I took some pictures of Bentley in Grandma's pumpkin patch. You can see some of the pictures in the header and watch Papa Parish's blog for a story about the visit. You never know what you will learn, but it is always an entertaining read.

We've been together for 7 years, but the state has rules.
Rules that say after 7 years you have to be replaced. So even though you've been with me through every car I've owned and stayed with me even when I haven't lived in Idaho, its time for you to go. They don't care about loyalty.
You've been replaced by some 4B plate toting a number I don't remember.
Goodbye old friend.
Any suggestions of what to do with an old license plate can be left in the comment section. Thank you

Wedding Crashers
We've just returned from a quick trip to Boise with my parents. A family friend/roommate twice over was married last night.
Our plan was to leave Burley at 3:30 to make it to the 7 o'clock ceremony in Caldwell.
At 3:15 my mom called frantic. "Where are you!?"
"In at the shop getting Chod's hair cut."
"The wedding starts at 5! Not at 7! We have to leave right now!!!"
The picked us up and we were on the road.
Now, when you are 2 hours late it doesn't matter what kind of laws you break...you just aren't going to make it. The invite said there would be dinner and dancing to follow the ceremony, but we had no idea how long the ceremony would take and what part of "dinner and dancing" we would be walking in on, but by golly we were making an appearance at this event.
At 6:30 we pulled into the St. Chapelle winery.
and saw that people were still eating.
We entered with apologies and joined in. We may have missed the ceremony, but we caught the dinner and were able to talk to the bride and her parents.
Mom and Dad even did a little dancing after the bride announced that they were celebrating their 29th anniversary and ordered them onto the dance floor.
I guess its true what they say, "better late than never."

Catching Up
Chod has been driving truck for Brent every now and then while he has time before his harvest begins.

Thursday I took Bentley to ride with him. At first he was a little afraid. Lots of strange noise and bumps, but it didn't take him long to adjust.
Soon he was playing with all of the buttons. That's when we knew it was time to leave.

For the Fun of It
After the rain storm had blown over we headed out to the fair. Chod's parents and Cameron joined us on our white-trash and fried dough filled adventure.
We saw cows and horses, and more horses, but Bentley looOved the goats. There were lop eared goats, earless goats, and this little fellow with normal ears.
Then it is on to the carnival.
The guys went on the merry-go-round. Bentley hated his reindeer moving up and down and so Chod held him. I think he was ready to puke by the end of it--he started turning a little green. Must get that from his mom.

Oh Doctor!
After 3 sleepless nights at Grandma's I took Bentley to the doctor today.
His first visit to the doctor outside of check-ups. His first ear infection. His first sinus infection.
His first antibiotic.
