Good Mail

I just sent my first official "Good Mail" today. I first heard about Good Mail here. From what I understand it to be, it is anything that is sent to another that make the recipient happy. Little, or big things that let them know you are thinking about them. In the mailboxes of full of phone bills and credit card offers, it is nice to get something Good.

I figured that with postage rising in the next couple of days I might as well use up my $0.39 stamps and figured this would be the perfect way to use them!Go on and send some Good Mail today!

Chef's Hat Needed

I just got a phone call asking me to be a hat model for our ward's "Hats Off to Visiting Teaching" dinner. I agreed to be a model and then they told me it would be my responsibility to find a chef's hat.

If you know of someone who has one that I may be able to borrow, please let me know. The sister said that if I couldn't find one there are most likely patterns to make one.

Or I could just break down and buy myself one here.

Spring Treats

On this cold, yucky spring day I decided to make a spring treat for the ladies I visit teach and as a small thank you for a few friends. Since it was snowing and blowing like crazy I thought it would be a great day to bake. I made cherry chip cookies. The pink specks looked good with the pink tags (if I do say so myself).

Now if only spring would get here!

Short Haul Trucker

Bentley discovered this old dump truck that used to be Chod's. It was obvious Hudson needs to teach him how to use toys like this. Bentley would climb in the back, stand up, and get dumped out. No matter how many times he would get dumped, he would get right back up in it. I suppose this was more fun than pushing it around the sandbox.

P.S. Grandpa, Bentley's neighbor friends have dump trucks like this their grandpa made them for Christmas--out of stainless steel. They look pretty cool and B thinks he and Hudson would like stainless steel ones for Christmas so they can leave them outside all year long without them rusting like this one.

The story of a little boy and his hat

This is the story of a little boy who got his first baseball cap and loves to play outside. He played with rocks and leaves and weeds and loved being outside. His new hat is great and keeps the sun out of his eyes as he runs around.

Then the little boys mom tricked him and got him to go in the house. The last photo is of the fit the little boy threw as soon as he realized he was trapped inside.

Baby Crooner

While my mom has been here off and on over the past week she has shared a bedroom with Bentley. Usually she complains about how hard the mattress is on that bed, but with the addition of a memory foam topper her complaints have shifted.

To Bentley's singing, well at least the timing of his singing.

Every night around 1:30 she was woken up by his own little performance of the songs of his choosing. These performances lasted about an hour. And then he would go back to sleep.

We now know why he sleeps so much during the day. I used to think he required an outrageous amount of sleep, going to bed at 7:30-not waking up until 8-and then taking 3, 2-3 hour naps during the day. Now I see that he doesn't sleep at night and has to prepare for the next nights concert by napping so much.

Happy Spring

Happy first day of Spring!! Good-bye winter!

My Little George

A few weeks ago while we were watching the Curious George movie I told Chod that I thought Bentley looked like George. He explained to me that George actually looks more like a child than a monkey with his round face, big eyes, smile and ears---yeah, my child.

While we were watching the movie with Grandma she declared that not only did he LOOK like George, but he ACTED like George too. Good thing George is pretty cute.

Did you miss me?

I think this is the longest I have gone without posting. I guess our last week has been busy. We celebrated Hudson's birthday, Grandma Parish spent the last few days with us, we went shopping, took down Valentines decor, and Bentley finally got his first molar in.

See, busy.

But I am back.

Soup-er Party Favor

Here are the cans of soup I made for our Soup-er Relief Society Birthday Party. I was in charge of the party favor and the theme was Soup-er Sisterhood, so a can of soup it was.

These are the springy cupcakes I took to said birthday party.

And for those of you worried about what I autioned off-here ya go!

Auction Dilemma

Tonight we are having a service auction. I don't know what to auction off. I need your help coming up with something. Here are the ideas I have:

Cookie of the month for 6 months. (Chod's idea-I think because it guarantees him cookies for 6 months too).

Bread

2 hours of yardwork

A blog makeover (Not sure how many ladies know what a blog is--let alone have one)

And that's what I'm working with. Let me know what you would want from me!

Easy Fix, Easy Change of Plans

For weeks my cold cycle on the washing machine has been getting slower. So slow that it was taking over 2 hours to wash a batch of colors. I told Chod there was a problem and his solution...

Use a bucket to fill it up....

I don't live in the early 1900's and that seemed ridiculous to me.

I live in the 2000's where Google exists. I Googled my problem.

The solution? Clean the screen that catches sand and minerals from the hose.

Easy enough!

Chod cleaned the screen Friday night, and then complained that it was such an easy fix. He had planned on spending Saturday fixing the washer, so now what was he going to do with his Saturday now that it was taken care of?

Ah, Paintball.

Special Pocket

Bentley's cute red pj's that you can see a few posts down have a pocket. Love the pajama's, think he looks like a little old man in them. but that pocket.

He hides food in it.

Last week as I was throwing them in the wash I noticed something in the pocket. A banana. Thought it was amazing that he could drop a piece of banana and it landed in the pocket. What talent he has.

As Chod was getting the little man ready for bed I asked if he needed pj's. Chod said that he had some, so I went to supervise. He was putting him back in the red pj's-the same pj's he slept in last night and ate breakfast in, but never made it into the laundry. I warned Chod to check the pocket for food.

To prove I was crazy, he opened the pocket....to reveal brown goo-ey banana.

I know. I watched the little stinker open his pocket and stick the banana in this morning.

3 Ring Circus riding shotgun

As Bentley and I have been watched this week we have had two days of riding while the other moms ran errands. My job on these excursions is to entertain the children while the mom's are out of the vehicle.

Monday I was riding shotgun, Bentley in the middle of the front seat (thank goodness for bench seats) and the other children in the back seat. I pulled out all of my trick's to keep the fighting and crying to a minimum. We sang, played the quiet game, played I Spy and best of all ate M&Ms.

Yesterday's adventure had Bentley and Hudson in the back seat. Most of the time they are pretty good and ride holding hands, but every once in a while we end up with a mad boy and sippy cups thrown. We exercised the "trade" policy, where a boy cannot steal another's toy without trading something for it. The best part of this trip is when they both fell asleep.

I can't be too picky who takes care of me right now, and I am grateful for those who have had Bentley and I ride along with them.

You pick the caption

What is really going on in this picture:

A) Bentley logged onto watch his ticker Tuesday morning (a trick he learned from Uncle Troy) and just noticed that the stock market is crazy.

B) Bentley learned a new hacking trick from his dad and is showing off his stuff.

C) He's pretty much enjoying the day "working" from home. If only you could see the donut sitting off to the side.

Apparently I love my bike

Yesterday as I was walking to the mailbox, I saw our bikes hanging in the garage. It triggered something in me, so last night when Chod got home I asked him if I had asked the doctor if I could ride my bike.

This is the story as told by Chod:

After surgery on the doctor's first visit of three before I am officially awake.

Doctor: blah, blah, blah, and no heavy exercise.

Me: Can I ride my bike?

Doctor: Uh

Me: Cause I really like to ride my bike. I ride it all the time.

Chod (thinking): What the...she doesn't ride her bike. It is freezing cold outside. Her bike has been hanging in the garage since October....she doesn't ride her bike.

Doctor: Riding a bike is out of the question, but you can walk.

Me: Oh, but I would really like to ride my bike.

Chod: I'm not going to tell her and the doctor that she doesn't ride her bike, but seriously, what is she talking about. I'll just nod my head.

Doctor: Riding a bike is fine until you have to go up a hill and then it requires more work than you should be putting forth. You should really just stick to walking.

Me: oh, okay.

So obviously I have a great love for my bike and the doctor won't allow it.

I hope you all find this story as humorous as I do, because I laugh about it every time I think about it--and laughing really hurts.

I wonder what else I told the doctor. During surgery he wanted me responsive, which is his own fault if I told him off while he was operating.
