Wedding Crashers

We've just returned from a quick trip to Boise with my parents. A family friend/roommate twice over was married last night.

Our plan was to leave Burley at 3:30 to make it to the 7 o'clock ceremony in Caldwell.

At 3:15 my mom called frantic. "Where are you!?"

"In at the shop getting Chod's hair cut."

"The wedding starts at 5! Not at 7! We have to leave right now!!!"

The picked us up and we were on the road.

Now, when you are 2 hours late it doesn't matter what kind of laws you break...you just aren't going to make it. The invite said there would be dinner and dancing to follow the ceremony, but we had no idea how long the ceremony would take and what part of "dinner and dancing" we would be walking in on, but by golly we were making an appearance at this event.

At 6:30 we pulled into the St. Chapelle winery.
and saw that people were still eating.

We entered with apologies and joined in. We may have missed the ceremony, but we caught the dinner and were able to talk to the bride and her parents.

Mom and Dad even did a little dancing after the bride announced that they were celebrating their 29th anniversary and ordered them onto the dance floor.

I guess its true what they say, "better late than never."
