Ridiculous Postage

On my way home from loading the boys in with Karisa and sending them off to Grandma's Camp, I realized I had only packed 2 pullups for Lincoln. And they would be at Grandma's for 3 nights. Knowing that it would be practically a miracle if he woke up dry, and that Grandma would not be happy with a wet bed I had 2 options. I could force Grandma to go to the store with 5 kids to buy a pullup would not be good either or I could mail one to him. As soon as I got back I stuck a pullup in an envelope and headed to the post office. When the lady at the counter asked if first class would be okay, I asked if it would be there by Friday? "No, Monday." "Will Priority get it there by Friday." Without answering she printed off the sticker and stuck it on the envelope asking if I needed insurance or delivery confirmation. I started laughing, nope its just a pullup, no insurance needed. Then I saw the postage due. $5.25! That's right. I paid $5.25 to send 1 pullup to Lincoln at Grandma Camp!

Mailbox Woes

I like getting mail. The trip to the mailbox is the highlight of most of my days.

Before Christmas I turned in an address forwarding request. Nearly a month later and we still have not received an ounce of mail, well besides the normal junk, but nothing addressed to our actual names. I knew it took some time before we would start seeing mail at our new location, but a month? Everyday I have been disappointed when I find an empty mailbox.

I called USPS to learn that our forward request was entered into their system incorrectly and instead of forwarding it on to us, our mail has been sent back to sender as undeliverable.

Uh oh.

The nice man I talked to promised to fix the problem ASAP...but what about all of my mail from the last month? Is it lost forever?

Good Mail

I just sent my first official "Good Mail" today. I first heard about Good Mail here. From what I understand it to be, it is anything that is sent to another that make the recipient happy. Little, or big things that let them know you are thinking about them. In the mailboxes of full of phone bills and credit card offers, it is nice to get something Good.

I figured that with postage rising in the next couple of days I might as well use up my $0.39 stamps and figured this would be the perfect way to use them!Go on and send some Good Mail today!
