If the power goes out, where is your closest flashlight?
Don't ask Chod.
We were eating dinner and one of the couples in our party got a call from their kids saying the power had gone out. Chod worried that we would freeze to death, fretted over where the flashlights were, and was convinced we had no water.
I knew we had flashlights in the 72-hour kits in the front closet, one in the desk drawer, and plenty of water stashed to get us through a few days. The freezing to death part I wasn't too worried about because with 3 of us and all of the blankets in our house (plus it was only 24 degrees outside) we could make it.
The power was out for over 3 hours.
We learned that we probably should get some more candles, the 3 we had were nice, but more would be better. And our next FHE is going to orient the family where the emergency supplies are located--including the water!
