Wind Caves

We went on a little walk this morning.

Along the way we saw a spring.

And gathered flowers.

The boys were troopers and did most of their own hiking.

We were in no rush and pretty soon we were at the top.

No bears in this cave.

Or in this one! Lincoln exclaimed, "This is AWESOME!" when we finally made it to the Wind Caves.

Lincoln said his favorite part of the hike was the cave, and Bentley said he liked just spending time with his family.

Cress Creek

Yesterday we set out in the (tornado strength) wind and did the little hike up to Cress Creek. Bentley thought it was great to be outside. He even did a little of the hiking on his own and learned to count to three in the process. We would each take one of his hands and on the count of the 3 swing him. When we would take a break from doing so he would say "Un, ooh, weee!" and jump on the "wee". Doesn't take him long to catch on.

It is named cress creek because watercress grows in it year round.

These are Twin Bridges, but if you look in the bottom of the photo you will notice how badly the wind was blowing.
